Three Volunteer Programme Officer Positions Now Open at SCECSAL

The Standing Conference of Eastern, Central and Southern African Library and Information Associations (SCECSAL) is pleased to announce three vacancies for Volunteer Programme Officers within the Secretariat. These positions are central to advancing SCECSAL's mission of strengthening library and information services across the region, and we invite qualified, committed, and passionate professionals to apply.

The Vacancies

a). Programme Officer – Finance and Administration

This role supports the financial management and administrative operations of the Secretariat, ensuring sound governance and the efficient day-to-day functioning of the organisation.

b) Programme Officer – Programmes and Projects

This role leads the design, coordination, and implementation of SCECSAL's programmes and projects, working closely with member associations and partners to deliver the organisation's strategic priorities.

c) Programme Officer – Advocacy and Communication

This role leads SCECSAL's advocacy and communication efforts, engaging member associations, partners, and the wider public to raise the profile and impact of the library and information profession across the region..

About the positions

All three positions are voluntary and home-based. The Programme Officer – Finance and Administration position is reserved for a candidate from Zambia, the host country of the SCECSAL Secretariat.

These positions provide a unique opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the development of library and information services across Eastern, Central, and Southern Africa while gaining valuable experience and building strong regional and international professional networks.
